Homemade Pita Pizza

One thing I used to really enjoy growing up was making what we called “Weight Watcher Pizzas”. My mom and I would do these together. We’d cut up a bunch of toppings and layer the crap out of our pizzas. To this day I still enjoy making them.

This weekend I decided to have one for lunch. Here is how I made mine!

Ingredients:
1 Whole Wheat Pita (4pts)
Pizza Sauce (1pt)
Skim Milk  Shredded Cheese (2 pts)
Cut up Pineapple (0pt)
Turkey Pepperoni (10 slices for 1 pt!)
Feta (1pt)





Other possible 0 pt toppings: Red, yellow, orange or green peppers, Red onions, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, herbs.. really the list goes on and on! Almost all vegetables are 0 pts.
I don’t really like veggies on pizza as I prefer veggies raw over cooked veggies.


1. Preheat oven to 375F
2. Put pita on a pizza pan or baking sheet
3. Cover with as much pizza sauce as you want
4. Top with about ⅔ of the shredded cheese
5. Add your toppings
6. Cover with the rest of the cheese
7. Put in oven!

Pretty damn easy, eh?

Make sure you watch the pizza to ensure it doesn’t burn. I usually put mine in for 10-15 mins but it really does vary based on how many toppings you put on it. Just make sure you take it out when the cheese is golden or when the crust is darkening.

This pizza is 8-9 pts all together and about 2 points per slice. I only had 3 slices so that made it a 6 pt meal. That’s how much one slice from a pizza place is. Homemade is better :)

  1. sounds great, although i dont like feta cheese, guess i could substitute another low fat cheese

    1. You can use any kind of cheese you want. I love feta on ANYTHING :)
