Weekly Goals

Hi all,

We’ve decided to start a new habit! The habit of posting 1 weekly goal here and checking in 2-3 times per week with an update on that goal (in the initial post) and then with a summary at the end of the week.

The reason we are doing this is to not only keep you guys involved in our goals but to also help keep us accountable. That’s why we’ve chosen to post 1 goal per week as updating 3 or more goals 2-3 times a week could become a bit excessive and honestly a bit hard to stick to.

So what are we waiting for?! Let’s get started!

Steph’s Goal: Eating veggies at breakfast, lunch and dinner

Checkin 1: So the week has been going well except for the fact that I was away from home and was unable to have vegetables for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday (today). Not a big deal as it was great hanging around with Pete's family :).  I got home and made sure I had a serving for lunch! I will continue to do so for the rest of the week. Check back for another checkin on Tuesday.

Checkin 2:  Today is day 7 and today is the last day of our "weekly goal". I have been on point since Sunday and have since made sure I had sufficient amounts of veggies at my meals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner! I've even preplanned my entire day today to ensure I have enough servings.

Summary: I would consider this week a success! I feel really proud of myself for not only pushing through with this.. but liking it! I definitely feel that I enjoy eating vegetables more after this weekly goal!
Jenn’s Goals: I am excited to start this new healthy habit, because setting goals is super helpful when striving for a better lifestyle. Since getting my fitbit as a very generous gift from my bestie, I have been able to monitor how many steps I take in a day. My daily average is about 7,500 steps, my goal is to reach 10,000 a day.

Checkin 1: On my first day I met 10,123 steps for the first time since using fitbit, felt good! Day 2 I reached 10,668 and then 10,116 on day three. Day four I didn't reach my goal, but I'm going to make up those steps I missed before this weeks goal is complete.

Checkin 2: I was not 100% successful in reaching my goals this week, I am happy that I got moving more than usual. I would like to revisit this goal when the weather is nicer and I'm able to go outside for walks.
