Motivation Monday



Hi all,

I wanted to share my progress with you guys since I haven't done so in quite a while. I've just been so incredibly busy! I've had a few off days here and there but I've been staying mostly on track with my eating plan.

Last week I decided to try simple start or as some call it.. the "simply filling" technique on Weight Watchers. Basically you just eat off of the power foods list and anything extra you track (suggested 7 points per day or 49 points per week). Here is a copy of that list I found posted online. There are a few extra rules to stick to but overall it's been interesting and going fairly well. Just to remind you, a power food is a food that makes you feel fuller for longer and also packs the most punch (nutrients wise) for their PointsPlus value. You can stick to this plan for a few days, a week or longer.

So you may wonder why I started this now. I was majorly struggling with making the right choices so I figured if I limited myself a bit more and got back down to the basics it would help me in the long run. I've already found that I feel fuller for wayyy longer and feel much more satisfied. I sometimes even find I don't snack between meals anymore. Instead of waiting until 7-8pm to eat dinner I now eat a bit earlier because I feel having a simple start meal is a lot better than snacking. Grocery shopping is A LOT easier too.

I've been browsing different recipes and getting ideas on what to make for meals and so far it has been really great! Even yesterday I made the weirdest looking dish and it tasted SOOO good. I think I'll share a few simple start recipes with you guys in the next week few weeks :).
